Munster League Round 8
As most of you will know Round 8 of the Munster League due to be played on Sunday 3rd March
was postponed due to snow and a national weather alert.
The MCU Committee has decided that Rounds 9 and 10 should be played as scheduled on Sunday
28th April. This is mainly because the original draw was made so that Division 2 teams would
get both their byes on the same day to reduce travelling. So it makes sense to keep Rounds 9 and 10
Unfortunately the chess calendar is quite crowded in April and May so that Round 8 has to
be postponed until Sunday 26th May. This will be followed by presentation of prizes and the
AGM. The time for Round 8 has not yet been finalised as we are considering running a Munster
Blitz competition after the AGM if there is sufficient interest.
Members will be given the opportunity to indicate their preference during the upcoming rounds
on 28th April.
