Munster Chess Union
Minute of Munster Chess Union Annual General Meeting held in the Charleville Park Hotel, Charleville on 6th September 2015.
ATTENDANCE
Frank Noonan, Simon Lawrence, Alan Salsac, Ray O'Brien, Eric Salsac, Rory Quinn, John Keane, Stephen Short, Pat Twomey, Mark Watkins, Gabriel Mirza, Sean Phillips, John Lucey, Paul Walsh, Kevin O'Flaherty, Ted Jennings, Gerry Graham.
Apologies were received from Paul Carey and Noel Keating.
DISRUPTION OF AGM START
This year John Alfred turned up to complain about being libelled on the MCU website. The Chairman pointed out that he is not a member of the MCU and asked him to leave. John refused to leave and the Chairman contacted the Gardai. John left when the Gardai arrived and the AGM started about 9:30 pm.
2014 AGM MINUTES
As the 2014 AGM Minutes had been available on the website since shortly after that AGM and we had lost considerable time the formal reading of the 2014 minutes was skipped. The meeting was then asked if there were any matters arising from the 2014 Minutes. No issues were raised.
The Minutes were adopted on the proposal of Kevin O'Flaherty and seconded by Eric Salsac.
MATTERS ARISING
There were no matters arising.
CHAIRMAN'S ADDRESS
The Chairman reported significant progress during the previous year. The new MCU website had been set up. The Munster Championship had been restored as a standalone event and was scheduled for the 18th - 20th September.
SECRETARY'S REPORT
The Secretary's report was adopted on the proposal of Alan Salsac, seconded by Pat Twomey.
